When people look back at the records for royals, they will notice that 2011 was for some reason missing from the records, and only this particular generation of debaters will remember why, though not all of them will.
Yes Royals was delayed by 2 months, which when its supposed to be at the end of the year, means that it ends up being on the following year. It was held in USM as was hoped, but as usual, the English debaters end up with the short end of the stick where Madum was concerned. They ended up 40 minutes away in a God Forsaken place called Nibong Tebal, the Engineering Branch of USM. It was nevertheless his last and only chance at junior category, and he intended to make the best of it. For the most part anyway.
Round 1
THW impose traffic fines based on percentage of the offenders income
Unimas(gov) vs USM(opp)
Unimas win in a really close debate.
Round 2
THW recognise animal land rights in developmental projects
Unimas(gov) vs UMP(opp)
Unimas lost. Bad adjudication. But life goes on.
Round 3
THW forbid the pursuit of self learning artificial intelligence
Unimap(gov) vs Unimas(opp)
Close to clear debate, Unimas win.
Round 4
THW disallow workers in essential sectors from striking
UITM(gov) vs Unimas(opp)
The tragedy of having high speaks in a 4 round prelim, is meeting a top team unnecessarily. A fifth round would have remedied this, but that didn't happen. And for the first time he was taken aback with how much the junior Uitm team has improved. A close to clear loss for Unimas.
Of course it was enough to break, but the tragedy of breaking low is meeting a top team. Hence, Uitm, again.
Quarterfinals
THW enforce a nuclear free middle east
Unimas(gov) vs UITM(opp)
A clear win for UITM. Theres only so much one can do.
UITM continued their domination by winning Royals for the Junior and the senior category. What else is new?
Last tourney for February, Novice. Hopefully the 6 round prelim will be fairer. On a breaking streak so far, lets see if it continues.
