Field Trip USA Press Conference

That, was the preview of Field Trip USA, airing soon on 8TV, 8th October, 9:30. The show absolutely reeks of coolness. He's in the first episode, so don't you dare miss it.

Anyway, last Thursday, the 8 stars of the show and a few of the other exchange students and the 8TV crew were at TGIF(it would've been great if it were on a Friday, considering they were doing it in TGI Friday, plus lots more of them would've actually been there on a Friday night). But nevertheless he was there like the happy trooper he was in One Utama's TGIF(he had never been to One U before), because, its not often this group get to meet up like this. Plus there was a free buffet.

The press conference was not so much what you would imagine it to be, it was more like press conference lite. Qi(the host of the show), sort of was hosting the whole thing, and after a rehearsal for the Q & A session(always thought that was spontaneous) they got it going.

The usual introductory speeches by AFS top guns and the US Ambassador to Malaysia(which he met) James Keith, and the cool 8TV CEO, eventually gave way to the screening of the first episode of Field Trip USA, and trust Albert when he says this, its WAY better than Qi's Destinasi Bajet. Theres Joe's funny one liners, an appearance by Beckham(Joe was placed near LA, so Beckham, LA Galaxy, you get the picture), and of course, Albert's line in Chinese. Don't you dare miss it.

After the screening, the Q&A session with the 8 stars, then there were interviews, after interviews for the 8 while he socialised with the guys, some of which he hasn't met since he left post-return orientation, which has been 3 whole months. The 8TV guys as usual, were really outgoing, just cool guys to talk to, Hendra, Qi, and theres no better companion to conversation than food. Really good, food. The lamb was awesome, the chicken was awesome, and the dessert, was the most delicious dessert he has ever had. It fact, Shai was talking to this friend on the phone that was threatening to end their friendship(more like a jealous dude), and even she couldn't help but punctuate the seriousness of the conversation with

"Oh my God this is soo good!"
"No, why, what happened-la, dont la "
"Omg, I need more of this"

It was that good.

Eventually the event came to a close, and he hitched a ride with the guys that would be staying at Shah Village back there and hung out for a while in their rooms. If theres one thing that really defines their relationship as Malaysian exchange students to America, it would be the late nights hanging out in each other's hotel room, the pillow talk, Andrew's ability to be funny when he doesn't even try, Joe's one liners, that is just so them. If the ability to have candid discussions on underwear were a gauge to a group's closeness, then this would be one tight group. From Andrew's matter-of-fact observations of short skirts going up stairs, Albert's recollection of one of the first things Andrew told him during the selection camp,

"Eh, Albert, that Jessica girl is really hot la"
"Eh, Albert, I think shes not wearing a bra la!"

And if you think Andrew is not direct and forthcoming about these things, he also asked Shai in all earnestness,

" Eh, Shai, you're not wearing a bra ah?!"

Until today no one knows whether or not she did.

Then there was Sherilyn's,

" My bra's too tight!"

Which she quickly justified by saying they were soo close, things you usually wouldn't say in front of other people she wouldn't mind discussing with them. Which was true, in fact at one point on that night, one girl was literally unbuttoning her blouse just to prove that her bra was a nude colour. Seriously, if half the things they discussed and sometimes DID, off camera came out on TV, Field Trip USA would be strictly 18-SX. All from the hot female stars of Field Trip USA. By now you probably dont want to miss it do you?
